The Football and Youth Club

A youth club has from time to time been based in the Village Hall room, and early parish-magazines contain accounts of entertainments and working parties organised by young people and encouraged by their elders. The variation in numbers naturally affects the state of the club, and recently there has been a revival of interest, and Mr. F. Gilbert and Mr. K. Bark have gathered together enough young boys to form an enthusiastic football team, which works hard and deserves to have the right facilities for training and playing, in addition to having the hall-room for its more sociable occasions for indoor games. It is hoped that the parish council will succeed in finding a suitable field for a permanent site for both a football field and also a recreation area for small children.
