Minutes of the Winthorpe-with Langford Parish Council Meeting.
Held in the Village Hall on Thursday, 20 May 2010
Present:
Mr S N Jackson, Mr D Aldridge, Mr R Allen, Mr Thompson and Mrs K Waters,
CC Mr V Dobson and DC Mrs M Dobson, plus two members of the public.
17/10 Apologies for absence were received from the following member, with explanation and accepted:
Mr B McClymont, Mr Wright, Ms Masheder and Mr Casterton

19/10 Election of Chairman:
The Clerk took the Chair and invited nominations for the position of Chairman.
It was proposed by Mr Aldridge, seconded by Mr Allen that Mr Jackson is re-elected to the position of Chairman for the following year. There were no further nominations. Vote Unanimous
Mr Jackson took the Chair.
20/10 Election of Vice Chairman:
Mr Jackson invited nominations for the position of ~Vice Chairman. It was proposed by Mr Aldridge, seconded by Mr Thompson that Mr Allen is re-elected to the position of Vice Chairman for the following year. There were not further nominations.
21/10 Nominations of representatives on outside bodies.
Tarmac Liaison Committee: Mr Aldridge and Mr Thompson agreed to represent the Parish Council on this Committee.
DC Mrs M Dobson suggested it would be a positive move to arrange a walk around Langford Lowfield with the Warden with members of the Parish Council to familiarise themselves with the latest projects that were taking place there.
21/10 Minutes of meeting held on 15 April 2010
These were accepted as a true record and signed by the Chairman.
22/10 Matters arising from the Minutes:
Minute Ref. 12/10 a Proposed Burial Ground/Allotments – Winthorpe – ongoing
Minute Ref.12/10 c Exchange of fields – Progressing.
Minute Ref.12/10 d Resurfacing of Chapel Lane, Winthorpe – been carried out.
Minute Ref.12/10 e – Adoption of phone box – Langford. - Ongoing
Minutes Ref. 8/10 - Re. Traffic Congestion – Drove Lane.
Re. Listed House near to Ling spot Farm.
It was noted that this house was not listed. If the Parish Council would like this to beconsered for list that a formal letter requesting this has to be written to N&SDC.. In the meantime time DC Mrs M Dobson agreed to speak to officers regarding the procedure required for listing a building and report back to next meeting. Agenda item at next meeting.
Re Lead thefts in village – It was reported that the Police had spoken to all the victims, assuring them that the culprits had been caught.
13/10 – Invoices for approval –
AON Insurance renewal for 2010/11 – clarification received on amendment to Policy and agreed. £740.96
D Lyne – grass cuting in village. £251.04
23/10 In augment – East Trent Group of Churches – Sunday, 6 June 2010.
The Chairman explained to the meeting that the newly ordained Bishop of Southwell would be visiting the East Trent Group of Churches on Sunday 6, June2010 with a detailed itinerary of his diary for the day, and that he would be attending All Saints Church Winthorpe and other nearby locations during the day. The invitation was open to all members of the Parish Council. The Chairman urged members to attend if possible to support Rev. David Milner. The Chairman was to place notices in and around the village.
24/10 Planning applications
a) N&SDC – Publication Core Strategy – Representation Period.
Document passed to Mr Aldridge and Mr Thompson to respond on behalf on the Parish Council.
Mr Aldridge reported that the response was in progress once completed a copy to be given to DC Mr M Dobson.

- Unanimously objected due to the fact that it contravenes various Policies with the Newark Local Plan.

who agreed to study it and report back to the next meeting.
