28/08 Matters arising from the Minutes
Minute No. 18/08 a Repair and renovation of Priest stone and plinth – Noted Mr Bullen, Conservation Officer at DC on holiday. Meeting informed that there could be a possibility for a proportion of the costs for these works to come from DC through a grant application. Source for rest of costs suggested W.P. Property Trust, proposed appoint 3 members to meet and make decision if falls in between meetings.
Minute No. 18/08 b Refurbishment of Village Sign – Action: Reported sign had to be redrawn, using same template.
Minute No. 18/08 c Grass cutting – Winthorpe – Ongoing – on agenda.
Minute No. 18/08 d Proposed new burial ground, Winthorpe. Action: Response received from Mr T Cooper (Agent for Stewart family) stating ‘whilst sympathetic, decision not forthcoming at present moment in time’
Minute No. 18/08 e Review of Standing Orders – Matter ongoing.
29/08 Update – Grass cutting – Winthorpe Parish
Mr Aldridge reported he had met with Mr J Shaw (meeting arranged and attended by CC V Dobson), with Mr McClymont, walked around the village viewing areas that would come under the NCC grass cutting schedule.
Following a brief discussion on the merits/drawback of taking on the grass cutting, it was resolved to contact D Lyne (Contractor for grass cutting Village) and establish the viability relating to costs etc if the PC were to take up the project.
30/08 Update – New Burial Ground – Referred to under Minute No. 28/08 – 18/08 d: Resolved to leave until July meeting. The Chairman agreed to contact Solicitor Mrs Kelly on the legal requirement of a PC regarding a new burial ground.
31/08 Invoices for approval:

32/08 Planning Applications:
NCC – Town and Country Planning (Gen. Dev. Procedure) Order 1995 Article 13 Notification to Parish Council of proposed development: Storage of topsoil, located at Newark and Nott’s Agricultural Society’s Showground, Winthorpe.
Although officially not consulted on this application, concern expressed by members regarding various matters on a previous approved application in relation to this one.

Mr Wright reported concerns of a parishioner regarding speeding vehicle/lorry traffic through Langford. Parishioners advised to report problem regularly to Police and to write to Road Safety Unit for a 24 hour speed check. Re Lorries – Lafarge to be approached about speed of Lorries through village.
