 Minutes of a meeting of the Winthorpe-with-Langford Parish Council.

Held in the Village Hall on Thursday, 19 May 2011 at 7.30 pm.

 

Present:  Mr S N Jackson, Mr D Aldridge, Mr G Thompson, Mr R Allen, Ms S Masheder, Mr L Cammack, Mr B McClymont and Mr B Wright

 

10/11 Apologies for absence: None received from members.

11/11 Declarations of interest: No Declaration of Interest given.

 

12/11  Election of Chairman

 

It was proposed by Mr B Wright, seconded by Mr R Allen that Mr S N Jackson is re-elected as Chairman for the ensuing year.  Vote Unanimous

 

13/11  Election of Vice Chairman

 

It was proposed by Mr B McClymont, seconded by Mr B Wright, that Mr R Allen is re-elected as Vice Chairman for the ensuing year.  Vote Unanimous

 

14/11 Nominations of representative on outside bodies:

 

Winthorpe Community Centre – Mr G Thompson and Alec Stewart.

Winthorpe Allotment Association – Mr R Allen and Mr D Aldridge

Festival Committee - Ms S Masheder

Tarmac – Mr D Aldridge and  Mr L Commack

It was proposed by Mr S N Jackson seconded by Mr Aldridge that all the above nominations are elected to serve on the various Committees for the following year.

 

 

15/11   Minutes of meeting of 21 April 2011

These were accepted as a true record following a minor correction and signed by the Chairman

 

16/11 Matters arising from the minutes:

Minute Ref. 6/11 a Proposed Burial Ground. – Ongoing

Allotments – A quote had been received for a new connection from Severn Trent Water - £969.32, with the connection being taken from the roadway on Holme Lane.  The Chairman explained that there was a closer point of connection to the Allotment Field.  This would have to be clarified with STW. He reported that he had consistently tried to contact an Officer from STW to arrange a meeting but had not been successful.  A brief discussion took place on where the connection could be made within the site..

 

.It was noted that twelve prospective allotment tenants had signed up with the Winthorpe Allotment Association and rental had been set at £36.00 per allotment + water charges.  The Chairman thanked Mr Allen for putting the new gate up.

 

Minute Ref. 6/11b – Adoption of Phone Box – Langford – ongoing

Minute Ref. 6/11c – Tree Preservation Order of trees – Gainsborough Road, Winthorpe – List to be finalised - ongoing.

 

Minute Ref. 6/d - Diamond Jubilee/Village Festival. Ms S Masheder informed that meeting that this will be discussed further after  this years  Festival had taken place.

Minute Ref.6/e – Church Stone Tablet and Pinnacle – to be taken off action list.

18/11 Planning Applications

11/00565/FUL by Newark and Notts. Agricultural Society for change of use from a combination of approx 10% domestic garden and 90% grazing grassland to incorporation in the showground property (retrospective)

-          No Objection.

 

10/01684/OUTM by Elk Motorsports for erection of a new steel portal building comprising of a workshop, reception, briefing room, machine room and toilets, plus extension to the existing Go-Kart track.  Demolition of existing building and toilet block and creation of new parking area, close to Drove Lane at Elk Motorsports, Drove Lane, Winthorpe – Noise Report.

-          Objection on various issues were raised, including noise, use of  the workshops and use of the go-kart track by motor cycles and hours of opening etc.  Mr Aldridge was asked to collate these together for submission to DC.

 

11/00580/FUL by S Nauson for proposed ground floor front extension, rear first floor extension, replace single garage and carport with double garage with pitched roof over to side elevation at 31 Woodlands, Winthrope.

-          Objection – proposal too big and inappropriate for the existing footprint of the site.

 

19/11 Correspondence

Notification of  a forthcoming Tarmac Liaison meeting to be held on 9.6.11.

Mr L Commack agreed to attend this with Mr Aldridge.

 

Mr R Allen reported that he had noted a lot of dead Elm Trees around the village specifically on Hargon Lane.  It was noted that these may be the responsibility of the Stewart Trust.  This is to be investigated further.
